HAMPTON LIFEGUARD ASSOCIATION

Hampton Lifeguard Association (HLA) is a non-profit 501C3 whose mission is to WATERPROOF LONG ISLAND'S SOUTH FORK. HLA formed in 1992 and is a charter member of the United States Lifeguard Association (USLA).

 

HLA supports lifeguarding activities throughout the Town of East Hampton, including the

  • East Hampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue squad (that's us!!)

  • Town of East Hampton Junior Lifeguard Program for children aged 9 to 15

  • Town of East Hampton Nipper Lifeguard Program for children aged 6 to 8

  • Town of East Hampton Cadet program for prospective Lifeguards aged 15 and 16

  • Town of East Hampton Lifeguard Training program, which certifies lifeguards aged 15 to 70+

  • East Hampton Main Beach Ocean Lifeguard Tournament

  • East Hampton YMCA Hurricanes Swim Club, which has over 80 members aged 7 to 18 who compete year-round

  • East Hampton High School Varsity Girls and Boys Swim Teams

  • East Hampton YMCA In-school swim program, which teaches swimming skills and water safety to mainly Pre-K to 5th grades from schools across the South Fork

All programs are made possible through the combined efforts and support of the HLA, Town of East Hampton, Village of East Hampton and East Hampton YMCA RECenter.
